How VAFeePay Works

Invoice submission: No change to this process - you send in your Fee invoices to the VA the same way you do today.

Payment: Fee Payments previously made by check will now be made by VA's GSA-SmartPay Purchase Card. When your Fee invoice is approved, the Purchase Card payment transaction will be initiated to your merchant processor who will fund your bank account with the claims payment as quickly as any other credit card transaction (typically in 3 days or less).

Explanation of Benefits (EOB): An official VA EOB will be sent by mail when the transaction is processed. However, by logging into your account from the VAFeePay website, you can review all payments online and receive detailed payment data.

Reconciliation: You will receive payments from the VAFeePay program in advance of your EOB. The online reporting tools available through the VAFeePay system allow you to review your payments, make queries, and create and download reports to increase the speed and simplicity of invoice and payment reconciliation.

Provider Benefits: In summary, the VAFeePay system provides our valued independent healthcare providers with increased speed of payment, improved access to claims payment information, and greatly enhanced reconciliation tools for managing your Fee transactions.
